Desirett 75mcg Tablet contains desogestrel, a progestogen-only oral contraceptive used to help prevent pregnancy. It is often prescribed for women who cannot take oestrogen-containing contraceptives, including those who are breastfeeding or have certain medical conditions. Unlike combined oral contraceptives, Desirett is taken continuously without a tablet-free interval. During the first few months of treatment, some women may experience irregular bleeding, absent periods, breast tenderness, headache, mood changes, acne, or mild weight changes as the body adjusts to the hormone. Taking the tablet at the same time every day is important to maintain its contraceptive effectiveness. Do not use Desirett 75mcg Tablet if you have a known allergy to desogestrel or any of the tablet's ingredients. It is also contraindicated in women with active breast cancer, severe liver disease, unexplained vaginal bleeding, or confirmed or suspected pregnancy.

Certain medicines may reduce the effectiveness of Desirett, including enzyme-inducing anticonvulsants, rifampicin, rifabutin, some medicines used to treat HIV, and herbal products containing St John's Wort. Severe vomiting or diarrhoea may also reduce absorption and contraceptive protection.
