Mefcid 500mg Tablet contains Mefenamic Acid 500mg, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve pain and inflammation. It is commonly prescribed for short-term treatment of conditions such as menstrual pain, musculoskeletal pain, dental pain, and other mild to moderate painful conditions. Mefcid is intended for short-term use and should generally not be taken continuously for long periods. Some people may experience stomach upset, diarrhoea, headache, dizziness, or drowsiness while taking this medicine.

The usual adult dosage is an initial dose of 500mg, followed by 250mg every 6 hours as needed. Treatment should generally not exceed 7 days unless specifically directed by your doctor.

Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water, preferably immediately after meals to reduce stomach irritation. Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet. If you are taking it regularly for a short course, try to take it at approximately the same times each day.

Mefcid 500mg Tablet typically has a shelf life of approximately 24–36 months from the date of manufacture when stored correctly and kept unopened. Always check the expiry date printed on the packaging before use.
