Introduction
Salonpas Plaster is a topical analgesic and rubefacient containing methyl salicylate, menthol, and camphor as its active ingredients. It is formulated as a medicated adhesive patch for the temporary relief of minor muscle and joint aches associated with backache, sprains, strains, bruises, and arthritis. When applied to the skin, it produces a cooling and warming counter-irritant sensation that helps reduce pain and discomfort. Some people may experience mild skin irritation, redness, itching, or a burning sensation, especially with prolonged use or sensitive skin. This product is for external use only and should be applied to clean, dry, intact skin. It should not be used with heating pads or during activities that cause heavy sweating, such as exercise. Because it contains a salicylate related to aspirin, consult your doctor or pharmacist before use if you have an aspirin or NSAID allergy, are taking blood thinners, or are pregnant.
How to Take
Salonpas Plaster is for external use only. Clean and dry the affected area before application, peel off the protective backing, and apply the plaster directly over the painful area. Wash your hands after applying or removing the patch, and avoid contact with the eyes, mouth, and other mucous membranes.
