Strepsils Orange with Vitamin C Lozenges combine 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol and amylmetacresol, two mild antiseptic agents, with 100mg of vitamin C in each lozenge. They are commonly used for temporary relief of sore throat and minor mouth or throat infections. Most people tolerate them well, although mild throat irritation or an allergic reaction to one of the ingredients may occasionally occur. Because the lozenges contain colourants and sugar, individuals with known colourant sensitivities or diabetes should check the ingredient list before regular use.
